Christopher Soto (b. 1986, Guayama, Puerto Rico) majored in Industrial Engineering (Bachelor of Science) with a Masters in Fine Arts at Full Sail University. A self taught artist, Soto’s art seeks to provoke the viewer to venture into the self while considering external socio-political and social themes. This micro-macro perspective is a common theme the artist employs while using storytelling as a vehicle to translate a deeper connection between culture and surrealism. Across his works the story is one of the constant cyclical process of suffering and evolution that defines our human condition. Drawing upon inspiration from his ancestral folklore, greek mythology, and his own dreams; Soto’s work is constantly evolving while maintaining its gaze fixed on the intersectionality of the fallibility of humanity and the divine.
Exhibitions include Telemundo PR (2001), U.S. Capitol (2003), University of Puerto Rico (2010), Hello Again: Lincoln Motors (2013), GOYA Awards Gala (2015), Dreams (2021), Leaves: A Resilient Island (2022). Soto has participated in several group exhibitions regionally and internationally including California, Washington DC, Puerto Rico, China, and Paris. Recent collaborations include: Designer EJE INTL New York Fashion Week (2022) and DC Fashion Week (2021).
